A recording device with a microphone, analogue to digital converter, data packetizer and communications interface. The data packetizer received digital audio segments from the analogue to digital converter and stores them in an activity record file until a termination condition is achieved, such as the expiration of a five minute period. Then a digital signature of the activity record file is calculated and the activity record file is optionally encrypted. The communications interface then sends the activity record file to a remote storage system. The recording device may be a smart phone with the data packetizer implemented in software, and the formation and transmission of activity record files may be done continuously. |
