Proposed are an anode active material, which contains at least one kind of secondary particles comprising two or more flocculated particles of primary particles, wherein the secondary particles comprise nickel-based lithium transition metal oxides, the primary particles are 2-3 μm in diameter, and the second particles are 5-8 μm in diameter, thereby having the half value width of a peak in the range of 0.09-0.12° in spectrum analysis (003) using X-ray diffraction analysis; a method for manufacturing the same; and anode and a lithium secondary battery adopting the anode active material.
