In the present invention, disclosed are a method for manufacturing an organic electroluminescent device and the organic electroluminescent device manufactured thereby. The method for manufacturing the organic electroluminescent device according to the present invention includes the steps of: preparing a first substrate on which a display region and a non-display region are defined; forming a light emitting unit which includes an organic light emitting layer and a thin film transistor on the display region; forming a pad part on one side of the non-display region; successively forming an encapsulation protection layer and a sacrificial layer on the display region and the non-display region; and separating the sacrificial layer and the encapsulation protection layer by radiating laser on the upper side of the pad part.
