PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten a transporting interval of print media further while reducing a decrease in transporting accuracy of the print media.SOLUTION: A printer 10, including a first drive motor 51 for driving a supply roller 41, a separation roller 42 and an intermediate roller 44 (a transport roller), and a second drive motor 52 for driving a print roller 48 and a sheet output roller 49, performs separate transportation in a printing path and a transport path. The printer 10 performs printing transportation and catch-up transportation, where: the former, in the printing path, is to drive the second drive motor 52 so as to transport the print medium with the print roller 48 and sheet output roller 49 at a printing transport speed for intermittent transportation; and the latter is to drive the first drive motor 51 so as to supply and transport the next print medium from a body sheet supply cassette 56 to the transport path, after a trail position of the preceding print medium goes out of the transport roller 44. |
