PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drying device capable of efficiently drying a large amount of water-containing substances.SOLUTION: A drying device includes: a drying chamber 13 in which a heating area 14 for storing a water-containing substance 6, and a cooling area 15 are formed; water-containing substance supplying means 16 and 17 for supplying the water-containing substance from the end part of the heating area; discharging means 21 for discharging the dried water-containing substance from the end part of the cooling area; heating means 28 provided in the heating area; a plurality of partition walls 34-39 partitioning the drying chamber into a plurality of drying compartments 44-50 and making the drying compartments adjacent to each other alternately communicate with each other on an upper part or a lower part; flow medium supplying means for jetting bubbling steam to the heating area from a bottom plate 22 in the drying chamber, and jetting cooling air 25 to the cooling area from the bottom plate so as to liquefy the water-containing substance; and discharge means 18 and 19 for discharging steam 53 generated from the water-containing substance by heating, and the cooling air. In a process where the water-containing substance flows while inverting between each of the drying compartments, the water-containing substance is heated in the heating area and cooled in the cooling area. |
