PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem in which many of conventional liquid pumps have a liquid outlet tube which typically is cylindrical in shape and has a constant cross-section, and are not operated at peak efficiency.SOLUTION: A liquid pump (1) has a pump housing (10) defining a pump chamber (19). A motor (20) is accommodated within the pump housing (10) and separated from the pump chamber (19) by an end cap (14). An impeller (30) disposed within the pump chamber (19) is driven by the motor (20). The pump chamber (19) has an inlet (12) and one or more outlets (13). The outlets (13) are located on a sidewall of the pump chamber (19) and extend in a direction substantially tangential to an outer circumference of the pump chamber. Each outlet (13) has a first end (13a) near the pump chamber, and a second end (13b) remote from the pump chamber. A cross-sectional area Sof the first end (13a) is smaller than a cross-sectional area Sof the second end (13b), forming a diffuser within the outlet (13). |
