MODELING DEVICE, THREE-DIMENSIONAL MODEL GENERATION DEVICE, MODELING METHOD, PROGRAM, AND LAYOUT SIMULATOR

A modeling device, which acquires three-dimensional coordinate values from a measurement device that performs a three-dimensional measurement on a three-dimensional object equipped with multiple surfaces, and which generates model information for the three-dimensional object. The modeling device is equipped with a surface extraction unit, an apex extraction unit, and a modeling unit. The surface extraction unit uses the coordinate values for measurement points belonging to a surface to generate a planar formula representing the surface. The apex extraction unit extracts, as apex points common to multiple contiguous surfaces, points which simultaneously satisfy the respective planar formulas representing the contiguous surfaces. The modeling unit uses the planar formulas and the apex points to generate model information representing the three-dimensional object. The surface extraction unit determines the planar formulas by performing a recalculation using measurement points which are within a prescribed distance range from a candidate surface.
