PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for diagnosing oral health in a subject.SOLUTION: A method for analyzing a gingival crevicular fluid sample from a subject comprises: a. detecting a level of one or more metabolites in the gingival crevicular fluid sample collected from the subject; and b. comparing the detected level of the metabolites to a metabolite reference level to thereby generate a differential level, where the metabolite reference level provides an indicator of periodontal disease or healthy oral status of the subject.
