<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner capable of expanding the continuous running possible range and of improving the reliability of a compressor, etc., while avoiding the freezing prevention of an indoor heat exchanger, the excessive rise prevention of the discharge temperature of the compressor, and the liquid compression.SOLUTION: Conditions for determining the initial opening of an expansion valve at the startup time of the compressor during the heating operation start are established as at least the condition 4 and the condition 5. When the ambient temperature detected by an outside air temperature sensor is lower than a specified value of the condition 4, alternatively when the ambient temperature is higher than the specified value of the condition 4 as well as when the ambient temperature is lower than the difference between the indoor suction temperature detected by an indoor air temperature sensor and a specified value of the condition 5, the condition 5 is satisfied so that the opening of the expansion valve is controlled such that the initial opening becomes the opening setup in the condition 5; and when the ambient temperature is higher than the difference, the condition 4 is satisfied so that a control device is provided for controlling the opening of the expansion valve such that the initial opening becomes the opening larger than the initial opening of the condition 5.</p> |
