<p>A carbon-coated silicon oxide powder usable as a cathode material for a secondary battery and a method for manufacturing the same are disclosed. The method comprises: a first step of forming a porous material by mixing silicon chloride and glycol in a bihydric alcohol group; a second step of forming silicon oxide by annealing the porous material in an inert gas atmosphere; a third step of forming a liquid-phase composite material by mixing the silicon oxide formed in the second step and hexane; and a fourth step of forming carbon-coated silicon oxide by annealing the liquid-phase composite material in an inert gas atmosphere, wherein the silicon oxide has an oxygen content (x) within a range of 0<x<2 when generally expressed as SiOx.</p> |
