PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a good image by correcting a temperature detected by an environmental temperature detection sensor on the basis of an environmental temperature change corresponding to an operational mode and by controlling an image forming condition by using the corrected environmental temperature. SOLUTION: There are provided: an environmental temperature detection sensor 51, disposed on or in the vicinity of a control circuit/high voltage power source substrate 50, for detecting an environmental temperature; and a CPU 52 for controlling an image forming condition on the basis of the temperature detected by the environmental temperature detection sensor 51. The CPU 52 corrects the environmental temperature detected by the environmental temperature detection sensor 51 on the basis of a temperature change amount of an environmental temperature predicted by a temperature counter for predicting the temperature change amount of the environmental temperature corresponding to an operational mode of an image forming apparatus, and controls the image forming condition on the basis of the corrected environmental temperature.
