[Class 106 (i)] Perforated - record controlled mechanism wherein each record 1 is fed between a rotating contact roller 5 and a row of wire reading- brushes 4, the latter engaging the roller through the holes to complete electric operating circuits, is characterized in that the surface of the contact roller is roughened to agitate the wires forming the brushes. The roughening consists in forming grooves 9 helically of the roller. Fig. 3 shows the grooves 9 in section. Instead of the grooves running in one direction (Fig. 2) they may cross each other ; or other forms of irregularities may be made on the surface of the roller. The gear train 6 driving the feed rollers 3 for the cards 1, also drives gear 8 attached to roller 5, so that the latter rotates counter clockwise, Fig. 1.
