Disclosed is a wood preservative formulation comprising: (a) an isothiazolone of formula (II); (b) an organic fungicidal timber decay preservative such as an azole compound selected from an imidazole, a 1,2,4-triazole, or mixtures of both; and (c) an unsaturated carboxylic or sulfonic acid, or a salt, ester, or anhydride thereof, wherein the unsaturated acid is selected from: a resin acid, or a salt, ester, or anhydride thereof; a linear unsaturated fatty acid, or a salt, ester, or anhydride thereof; or an aromatic acid of formula (I); wherein the isothiazolone, organic fungicidal timber decay preservative and unsaturated carboxylic or sulfonic acid, salt, ester or anhydride thereof are present in amounts such that the formulation, when diluted, provides a wood preservative treatment solution which contains less than 500 ppm by weight isothiazolone, wherein the formulation is free of haloalkynyl compounds, and wherein the variables shown in formulae (I) & (II) are as defined in the specification. |
