PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an image for suppressing reduction in display quality due to the influence of a lateral electric field from being visually recognized.SOLUTION: A video processing circuit 30 detects a risk boundary which is a part of a boundary between a dark pixel and a bright pixel displayed on a liquid crystal panel 100 and is determined by a tilt direction of a liquid crystal molecule, and corrects at least one of the dark pixel and the bright pixel in contact with the risk boundary to a half tone in a first field. A scan control circuit 20 turns off a light source 200 which irradiates the liquid crystal panel 100 with light in a period where an image formed in the first field is displayed. The light source 200 is turned on in a period where uncorrected images generated in second to fourth fields are displayed.
