A dredging system (10) for a sump area (48) containing a feed stock, comprising; a support system (14); and a sluicing pump (12) suspended from the support system (14), the sluicing pump (12) having a suction inlet (30) to recover feedstock from the sump area and a discharge outlet (28), whereby in operation the sluicing pump (12) draws a slurry of water and feed stock material from the sump area (48) through the suction inlet (30) and discharges it through the outlet (28).
