<p>An actuator mechanism 10 is provided for a cistern 12 that is normally kept empty. When required, a fill button 42 is pressed, which opens a pilot valve 30 and an inlet valve 28 and the fill button is held in place by a latch 54 until rising water in the cistern lifts a float 50, which releases the latch and allows the inlet valve to close. The toilet is flushed by pushing a flush button 56 that opens a conventional flush valve 20. A later embodiment relates to a method of providing water to a toilet using said mechanism.</p> |
