[Class 38 (iii)] Combinations of resistances. -A controller for controlling the running and braking operation of a motor comprises a main resistance subdivided into sections I, II, initially connected in series and constituting coarse steps of control, and a regulating resistance R which is connected in parallel with each of the sections I, II in succession, the section I after being gradually shortcircuited by the resistance R being connected in parallel with the next section II to be gradually short-circuited. The resistance R is connected in parallel with the section II only after the parallel connection of the sections I and II has been effected. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also an arrangement in which the resistance R is connected in parallel with the section I of main resistance at the first regulating step. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.</p> |
