PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery exhibiting excellent cycle stability without gas generation from the inside of a battery during usage after having been manufactured.SOLUTION: A nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery includes a positive electrode, a negative electrode, and a nonaqueous electrolyte interposed between the positive electrode and the negative electrode. When a capacity per unit area of the positive electrode is denoted as A, and a capacity per unit area of the negative electrode is denoted as B, the positive electrode and the negative electrode satisfy the relationship of A<B. The nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery is subjected to a charging/discharging treatment step where a potential of the positive electrode relative to the negative electrode is maintained for a certain time after the nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery has been discharged till the potential of the positive electrode reaches 0.0 V while the nonaqueous electrolyte is interposed between the positive electrode and the negative electrode. |
