PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method of a cyclic trisulfide compound in a high yield, simple and economical way without requiring protection of a sulfur atom by a trimethylsilyl group which is expensive and easy to be hydrolyzed.SOLUTION: A dithiol compound or a cyclic disulfide compound having two S is halogenated to generate a halogenated dithio compound; and then the halogenated dithio compound is reacted with a sulfide of an alkali metal having one S to produce a cyclic trisulfide compound.
