PURPOSE: To obtain a tool material for burning generating a slight wear and peeling of a coating layer by having a coating layer on a part or whole of the surface of a parent material, storengthing binding between the parent material and the coating layer and increasing hardness of the coating layer itself. CONSTITUTION: The objective tool material is composed of a coating layer containing >=80wt.% one or more than two kinds selected from among Al2 O3 , MO and ZrO2 in the total as principal components and 0.5-10.0wt.% one or more than two kinds selected from among Fe2 O3 , TiO2 , BaO, SrO and CaO or MgO other than used as a stabilizer, as additives in the total (except selection of the same additive component as the principal component of the coating layer) on a part or whole of the surface of a parent material containing >=70wt.% one or more than two kinds selected from among Al2 O3 , MgO and ZrO2 . |
