Provided are: an aqueous surface treating agent which creates a matte surface on various articles and imparts a more high-quality design and with which a coating film the mattness of which does not decrease even when subjected to a forming process such as drawing can be obtained with one coating; and articles using the same. An aqueous surface treating agent comprising an aqueous polyurethane (A), an aqueous polyester (B) or an aqueous acrylic resin (C), a matting agent (D), and a crosslinking agent (E) is used. In particular, an aqueous surface treating agent wherein the aqueous polyester (B) is a polycarbonate aqueous polyurethane and the crosslinking agent (E) is a carbodiimide is used. |
