A modular electricity meter comprises at least one meter unit 26 with a case body 22 and a sliding terminal cover 24. The terminal cover is latched in a first position to prevent access to the terminals, but depressing a button (24a, figure 2) causes the cover 24 to slide into a second position that allows access to the terminals. The sliding action may be by means of slots 34 in the cover portion 24 that engage with lugs in the case body 22. The cover may have a third position (figure 5) in which it pivots downwards about the lugs to hinge clear of the terminals completely. The cover is thus retained in engagement with the meter case body at all times, even when moved to access the terminals. |
