<p>An LED lighting system includes one or more electrical energy by-product lighting circuits inserted into the mains AC supply of an electrical load without unduly restricting the power drawn by the load. The arrangement includes one or more LEDs D1 in series with the load, the number of LEDs being chosen in accordance with the required light output and/or load current.
