PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent or suppress occurrence of a problem on unstable combustion due to lowering of a cylinder temperature caused by introduction of an EGR gas of low temperature into a cylinder, without increasing the number of components and complicating a structure, in an internal combustion engine including an EGR device.SOLUTION: A control device (ECU) including temperature detecting means for detecting or estimating a temperature T on a downstream side with respect to an exhaust gas cooler (EGR cooler) of an exhaust gas recirculating passage (EGR passage), reduces an opening of an exhaust gas recirculation control valve (EGR valve) 23, when the temperature T of an exhaust gas detected by the temperature detecting means is lower than a prescribed value Tth, in comparison with a case of the other state, and performs control so as to increase a valve overlapping amount. |
