PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medium supply device capable of suitably securing safety of an operator in recovery work when a carriage error occurs.SOLUTION: A medium supply device 1 includes opening/closing means (a lock shaft 11, a lock arm 9, a hopper 2, a link member 12, and a rotary member 13) performing opening operation to a direction to separate rollers coming into pressure-contact with each other in a separation part 7 and a carriage part 8 when a carriage error of a medium P1 occurs, and performing closing operation to a direction to bring the rollers into contact with each other after recovery from the carriage error. An error release operation control part 23 of a controller 20 controls the opening/closing means to perform the opening operation (step S108) and the closing operation (step S121) at relatively low speed when an operator is present in the neighborhood compared to when the operator is not present in the neighborhood. |
