PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a treatment method of a heavy metal-containing solution capable, by sensing a state where functional groups of an ion exchange resin have been saturated with heavy metals, etc., of controlling the permeation stoppage timing of the heavy metal-containing solution.SOLUTION: In a treatment method of a heavy metal-containing solution for removing, by permeating a heavy metal-containing solution through multistep ion exchange resin-filled columns provided by serially connecting two or more ion exchange resin-filled columns, heavy metals from the solution, the solution is permeated through the multistep ion exchange resin-filled columns so as to confine, to a range of 3 or above and 300 or below, the product of the heavy metal concentration within the solution (mg-equivalent/L) and the permeation rate (m/h) of a body of raw water permeated through a first-step ion exchange resin-filled column 16, whereas the pH of a body of treated water discharged from a second-step ion exchange resin-filled column 18 is detected by a pH meter 24, whereas the permeation of the solution through the multistep ion exchange resin-filled columns is stopped based on the variation of the detected pH. |
