The present invention is a glass sheet which is formed by a float process of forming a molten glass raw material into a plate-shaped product on a molten metal and which has a thickness of 1.6mm or less. When the surface that is one of the surfaces of the glass sheet and that was brought into contact with the molten metal in the forming is taken as a first surface, and the surface opposite to the first surface is taken as a second surface, at least the first surface has undergone a treatment for forming a densified dealkalized layer. The glass sheet satisfies the relationship ER2/ER1 ≤ 0.8 [wherein ER1(nm/min) is an etching rate of the first surface and ER2(nm/min) is an etching rate of the second surface, each etching rate being determined by etching using 0.1 mass% hydrofluoric acid as an etchant at 50°C].
