A powered door opener for opening and closing a door, the powered door opener comprising a static assembly 2, an opener assembly 4 and a clutch 40, the clutch 40 comprising a rod 38 and a clutch housing 40a, the rod 38 having a recess 39 therein and the clutch housing 40a having a resilient member 41,42 biased against the rod 38 characterised in that the said opener assembly 4 is for attachment to said door and said clutch housing 40a is in a fixed relation to said opener assembly 4, such that, in use, said rod 38 can move in relation to said clutch housing upon said resilient member 41,42 moving out of said recess 39. A method of opening or closing a door using a powered door opener and closer apparatus is also provided. |
