HYDROCARBON REFORMER TRAP MATERIAL AND METHOD OF REMOVING HYDROCARBON

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrocarbon reformer trap material capable of adsorbing and modifying hydrocarbon.SOLUTION: The hydrocarbon reformer trap material has a SiO/AlOratio of 7 to 12 and contains Fe (II)-substituted beta type zeolite which is applied to an ion exchange by Fe (II) ion. The carried amount of Fe (II) is preferably 0.001 to 0.5 mmol/g for the Fe (II)-substituted beta type zeolite. The Fe (II)-substituted beta type zeolite is preferably manufactured by dispersing zeta type zeolite having the SiO/AlOratio of 7 to 12 into an aqueous solution of a water soluble compound of bivalent iron, mixing and stirring to let the beta type zeolite carry the Fe (II) ion.
