PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat exchanger case capable of appropriately assuring durability strength and airtightness at a welded part between a case main body and side plates even if a slight strain and a dimension error occur at a case main body.SOLUTION: A cylindrical flange part 61 at an outer peripheral edge of a side plate 6 is fitted to and welded to an opening peripheral edge 22 at the end of a cylindrical case main body 2. There is provided a case C of a heat exchanger in which one of the opening peripheral edge 22 of the case main body 2 and the cylindrical flange part 61 of the side plate 6 is a slant cylindrical part 7B where an outer dimension becomes smaller toward a portion near the front side in a fitting direction with respect to the other, and the other is a non-slant cylindrical part 7A where its outer peripheral surface has a non-slant shape or has a slant angle smaller than that of the slant cylindrical part 7B. The slant cylindrical part 7B is inserted into the inside of the non-slant cylindrical part 7A and the extremity end of the non-slant cylindrical part 7A and the slant cylindrical part 7B are welded to each other.
