a combustion chamber for burning impurities in a waste gas to produce an exhaust gas; a gas preheater for preheating the waste gas before it enters the combustion chamber; and a quench chamber positioned between the combustion chamber and the gas preheater for controlling a temperature of the exhaust gas before it enters the gas preheater.
