An apparatus and a method for controlling power management are provided to perform power management mode according to a movement sensing result, thereby effectively performing power management. A transceiver(210) transceives a communication signal. An acceleration sensor(290) senses movement of a communication device. A controller(250) controls power application to the transceiver by checking an operation of the acceleration sensor. The transceiver includes at least an RF unit(210b). A power supply unit(280) includes an AC power supply or a battery which is auxiliary power. A memory unit(260) stores an operation program and data. |
