Provided is a method for acquiring and displaying images. When the inside of an area to be monitored, such as the inside of a furnace, is photographed using a surveillance camera, the method for acquiring and displaying images can acquire monitoring images for the area to be monitored while consistently changing a photographing direction of the camera and can enable an operator to analyze the images while understanding intuitively and easily where the acquired images correspond to in the area to be monitored in order to monitor the inside of the area to be monitored everywhere over a wide range. In the method for acquiring and displaying images, a rotatable vision tube around a central axis in parallel with an internal optical path is arranged to pass through a wall to face the area to be monitored, wherein an optical axis of an object lens provided in a front end of the vision tube is inclined at a predetermined angle regarding the optical path. Subsequently, a real-time monitoring image is acquired while changing the photographing direction by rotating the vision tube. In addition, a display image is displayed on a display device in the form of combining the real-time monitoring image with a reference image capable of referring to a state of the area to be monitored. |
