The present invention relates to a size measuring device for scrap metal materials, which can prevent the waste of materials by measuring the length, height, and width of scrap metal materials remaining after processing a rectangular metal material or a metal plate and managing the scrap metal materials by size. The size measuring device for scrap metal materials comprises: a main frame which includes two LM guides that are separated from each other at a fixed interval; a transfer board where an object to be measured is placed, and which horizontally moves along the LM guide; an initial position sensing unit which is installed at one side of the main frame, and includes an aligning sensor for sensing the initial position of the objected positioned on the transfer board; a horizontal transfer unit which is installed on the main frame in order to horizontally move the transfer board; a width measuring unit which includes a width sensor that is installed to move along the width direction of the main frame at a position separated at a fixed distance from the aligning sensor; a height measuring unit which includes a height sensor that moves up and down along the LM guide on a vertical frame, installed vertically to the main frame, at a position corresponding to the width sensor; and a control unit which controls the horizontal transfer unit, the width measuring unit, and the height measuring unit respectively by signals from the aligning sensor, the width sensor, and the height sensor, and calculates the length and width of the object. |
