The present invention relates to an axial turbine for a turbocharger. The stator-less axial turbine for a turbocharger has a turbine housing assembly to form a meridionally divided scroll elongated towards the circumferential direction to surround a turbine wheel. The meridionally divided scroll forms a first scroll which is virtually and completely elongated towards the perimeter of the turbine wheel, and a separate second scroll which is virtually and completely elongated towards the perimeter of the turbine wheel. The turbine housing assembly forms an additional inlet for the first and second scrolls to accommodate an additional exhaust gas stream, and additional first and second outlets for the first and second scrolls which supply the relevant exhaust gas stream into the inlet of the turbine wheel towards the general axial direction. |
