A method of enriching atmospheric carbon dioxide (C02) in a protected cropping facility for the purpose of enhancing the growth of plants therein, said method comprising the steps of: * Constructing nearby to a protected cropping facility a membrane air separation unit where the membranes were designed to be selective for C02; * Using fans to move atmospheric air through such air separation unit into the protected cropping facility such that the C02 concentration in the atmosphere within such facility was increased from approximately 400 parts per million (ppm) to between 800ppm and 1,200ppm being the appropriate level to enhance the growth rates of the plants being grown in such facility. |
