PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for starting a hydrogen production apparatus capable of shortening a time required until hydrogen gas purity becomes stable without increasing energy consumption, and to provide the hydrogen producing apparatus.SOLUTION: There is provided a method for starting a hydrogen production apparatus, the apparatus comprising: a reformer that produces a hydrogen-rich reformed gas by steam reforming of a hydrocarbon-containing raw gas; and a hydrogen purifier that adsorbs gases other than hydrogen in the reformed gas using a PSA system. The method is characterized in that a temperature T1 in the reformer at which the reformed gas begins to be supplied to the hydrogen purifier and a temperature T2 in the reformer in steady-state operation of the hydrogen production apparatus satisfy following expression (1): T1<T2 (1). |
