METHOD FOR PRODUCING MONODISPERSE GRANULES OF METAL OR ALLOY

The invention relates to the field of powder metallurgy, in particular to a method for producing monodisperse powders, granules of metals or alloys. The method consists in subjecting a jet of molten metal or alloy to action of pulsed electric current through a small section of this jet and due to pressure of the pinch effect from the jet a required part of the molten metal or alloy is separated, which after cooling forms a granule of predetermined size. The invention provides dispersion of the metal jet with high efficiency with a given distribution of the resulting granules by size regardless of the magnitude of the surface tension coefficient and oxidation of metal or alloy, and allows to avoid the use of airtight volumes and inert gases.
