The method involves determining a mounting height profile as a mounting surface (17) of a prepared boat deck (15) for assignment with a finished deck. Height difference between an actual height profile and the mounting height profile is determined. Height dots (16) on the boat deck are measured. Application of a compensating mass (18) on the boat deck is carried out. The boat deck is flushed with a height marker (25) on top of the mounting surface. An assembly of the finished deck is carried out by gluing on the surface. The height marker is made of plastic or timber material.
