The present invention relates to a blast furnace heat retention controlling method by which a heat storage state is maintained over a long period of time in a blast furnace through combustion, pause, and re-combustion and a thermal shock of a checker brick can be prevented. The blast furnace heat retention controlling method includes a combustion and liquid gold material cooling step in which combustion gas is supplied into a heat storage chamber to initiate combustion for a heat retention operation and injection of cooling air for cooling a liquid gold material is initiated at the same time as the combustion; and a pause step in which the combustion for the heat retention operation is stopped by stopping the supply of the combustion gas in the heat storage chamber when the dome temperature of the heat storage chamber is equal to or higher than a predetermined first temperature and the temperature of the liquid gold material is equal to or less than a predetermined second temperature. |
