The present invention relates to a cordierite honeycomb structure using agalmatolite and a manufacturing method thereof, more specifically, to the manufacturing method of the cordierite honeycomb structure which uses agalmatolite without asbestos to offer excellent porosity and intensity, and to prevent the environmental contamination by the asbestos. By replacing talc which is a synthesis material of cordierite into the agalmatolite, local mass production of the honeycomb structure is possible, and the manufacturing costs are reduced. The cordierite honeycomb structure using the agalmatolite contains the following: a mixture of the agalmatolite, magnesium hydroxide and alumina; an inorganic binder; an organic binder; and water.
