Disclosed are a system and a method to control charging of an electric vehicle. The system to control charging of an electric vehicle includes a plurality of electric vehicle charging means connected to an AC power source to supply electric energy to an electric vehicle battery; and a central control means to calculate an entire load for the plurality of electric vehicle charging means, comparing an unbalance factor of the calculated entire load with a preset allowable unbalance factor, and controlling the plurality of electric vehicle charging means to control an amount of electric energy charged through the plurality of electric vehicle charging means based on the comparison result. Therefore, an unbalance problem of the load caused in a plurality of electric vehicle charging apparatus can be solved. |
