The invention relates to a method for the automatic interpretation of images for the quantification of nuclear tumour markers, in which, using images that have been pre-tinted using known methods, the following steps are performed: changing from RGB colour space to another space in which one of the channels represents the light intensity of the pixel; extracting the channel corresponding to the intensity value; filtering the image; equalizing the histogram to increase the contrast; performing segmentation based on regions and detection of contours; combining the images obtained from the segmentation based on regions and the segmentation based on contours, in order to produce a mask that is applied to the original image so as to obtain the area of interest, formed only of the nuclei; and, finally, classifying the pixels. The invention improves workflows, ergonomics, comfort and productivity for experts in diagnostics. |
