PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic welding system and an automatic welding method that can improve workability in welding of a circular member to a surface member and automate the welding as well as improve welding quality.SOLUTION: A weld line between a circular member 11 and a surface member 12 is divided into a first weld line L1 and a second weld line L2, and control means 6 is configured to: measure the bead shape of the second weld line L2 during welding process of the first weld line L1; measure the bead shape of the first weld line L1 during welding process of the second weld line L2; set posture and welding conditions for a welding torch 3 in subsequent welding of the first weld line L1 depending on the measurement result of the bead shape of the first weld line L1; and set posture and welding conditions for the welding torch 3 in subsequent welding of the second weld line L2 depending on the measurement result of the beat shape of the second weld line L2.
