The invention relates to a method for purifying salts K+X-, K+ is any cation and X- is an organic anion having at least 6 C atoms, characterized in that a) the salts K+X- are present in compositions that contain water-soluble salts (K+)n Yn- as contaminants, K+ being the aforementioned cation, Yn- being an inorganic anion or an organic ion different from X- having at most 10 C atoms, and n being 1, 2, or 3, b) the anions X- of the salts K+X- are transformed into the acids HX by adding a water-soluble hydrogen acid (H+)m Zm-, m being 1, 2, or 3, two phases being formed, an organic phase, which contains HX, and an aqueous phase, which contains the water-soluble salts (K+)m Zm- and (K+)n Yn- or acids (H+)n Yn-, c) the organic phase is removed, d) the aqueous phase is conducted over a strongly basic anion exchanger, which binds the anions Zm- and Yn- and releases OH-, and thus an aqueous mixture, containing K+ OH- is obtained, and e) the organic phase (containing HX) and the obtained aqueous mixture (containing KOH) are reacted, possibly with the addition of further HX, to form K+X- and H2O. |
