PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a ballast water discharge standard adopted by IMF (International Maritime Organization) agreement.SOLUTION: In an electrode purification body and a fine particle purification body, in order to sterilize living things and bacteria by electric sterilization or electrochemical sterilization, two or more kinds of metal electrodes of different electrochemical potential columns are incorporated, an electrode potential difference is generated in the electrodes having an electromotive force level, and fabrics, resin or carbon cloth is incorporated between the electrodes which are fixed to the fabrics, the resin or the carbon cloth and separated. A contact state is attained by immersion in an electrolyte (seawater, water, hot water), electrolytic corrosion action and corrosion action of the electrochemical reaction (electrochemical corrosion reaction) of an electric double layer occur at a surface boundary of the electrodes and the electrolyte, and a current flows between the electrodes. By electric field formation and static electric generation, floating biological community, living things and bacteria are gathered at the electrodes, and by discharge, metal ions, corona discharge and free radical action, the biological community, the living things and the bacteria are sterilized by the electric sterilization and electrochemical sterilization. |
