PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which detects misregistration of position and density accurately to properly adjust image position and image density.SOLUTION: The time when a front edge of a reference pattern 200K in a detection pattern 200 of one system is defined as "T0". The time when a front edge of a measurement pattern 200Y is defined as "T1". The time when the front edge corresponding to the measurement pattern 200Y in the detection pattern 200 of the other system is defined as "T2". By use of the time T1 from T0 to T1 and an original first reference time, positional misregistration of a toner image in a conveyance direction B of an intermediate transfer belt is adjusted. By use of the time Tw from T1 to T2 and an original second reference time, image magnification misregistration in a direction orthogonal to the conveyance direction B of the intermediate transfer belt is adjusted, to adjust image density by use of a result of measuring a density correction area 202 between edges 201a, 201b of the measurement pattern 200Y and a reference density. |
