The present invention provides a method for manufacturing an organic electroluminescent device which includes the steps of: forming a first electrode on a first substrate with a defined display region including a plurality of pixel regions according to each pixel region; forming a bank with a dual layer structure which is composed of a lower layer with a first thickness and a first width to surround each pixel region by overlapping the edge of the first electrode and an upper layer with a second width which is narrower than the first width; forming an organic light emitting layer on the upper side of the first electrode and the lower layer of the bank in a region surrounded by the upper layer of the bank; and forming a second electrode on the front of the display region on the upper side of the organic light emitting layer.
