Linear polymers or copolymers of propylene produced by the low pressure process are subjected to partial degradation by heating in air at a temperature of 10 DEG to 20 DEG C. above the crystallite melting point for from 1 to 60 minutes. In examples polypropylene and an ethylene/polypropylene copolymer are degraded, admixed with 2-(2-methyl-4-hydroxyphenyl)-camphane as stabilizer, and formed into beakers and foils.
