PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To implement accurate rotation detection and maintain durability by changing a braking force in accordance with whether or not the rotation of a stepping motor is easy to maintain.SOLUTION: A stepping motor control circuit includes: a battery 101 as a power supply; a voltage detection circuit 107 for detecting a voltage of the battery 101; a rotation detection section for detecting a rotational status of a stepping motor 103; and a control section for rotatively driving the stepping motor 103 by selecting a driving pulse depending on the rotational status detected by the rotation detection section. The rotation detection section detects a rotation with the use of a smaller braking force to the stepping motor 103 if the voltage of the battery 101 detected by the voltage detection circuit 107 does not exceed a predetermined value than if it is exceeded.
